PRICE IS IN USD.
I am opening registration for an intense full-weekend workshop making a natural fiber art doll in Minneapolis, MN. The workshop will be taught starting Friday, November 9 in the evening for a few hours as well as Saturday and Sunday, all day.
We will be creating a doll 15" tall, stuffed with wool (with the rolling wool method), added needle-felted features to a rolled head, weighted with glass beads and a wig made with mohair yarn.
This is an Advanced dollmaking workshop, not suitable for the very beginner dollmaker. If you have never made a doll in this style I do not recommend attending the workshop. If you have made dolls before (cloth or otherwise), this workshop will be of great help to you on your doll making journey, as we will cover many techniques and clever ways to assemble dolls.
The doll making workshop will teach you advanced doll construction techniques, needle-felting to add facial features, how to add weight to your doll, and body features like elbows, knees, and ears. This workshop teaches how to construct a doll wig using dollmaking mohair yarn. The workshop does not cover other wig-making methods nor will we cover doll clothing. There is simply not enough time.
The price of the workshop is in USD and covers the majority of the tools and materials you will need to create the doll, but you will have to come with a few tools yourself. We will be providing coffee, tea, and snacks, as well as lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. This to maximize the time we will spend together, and so we are hydrated and never hungry.
There is very limited space as I like to keep my workshops rather small. Upon issuing payment you will receive links to a website page where you can make selections regarding eye and hair colour, but skin shade is left to me. We will be using light skin fabric. You will also be able to check out the list of tools/implements you must bring with you as well as homework to do before attending.
Cancellation policy: this payment is fully refundable within 1 week of payment. After that payment is non-refundable. Any questions feel free to ask, you can contact me through the store or email me directly at fabs(at)figandme(dot)com
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity of sharing some of my knowledge with you, but most importantly of spending time together creating a doll. It is a very special process and I am sure you will fall in love with this experience.
