Welcome to a summer of dollmaking explorations!
(Price is in USD, doesn't include materials and taxes may apply)

Do you feel the creative need of making a Waldorf-inspired doll but don't know where to begin and tackling a tutorial on your own sounds a little daunting? So many free and paid tutorials, workshops for specific techniques, etc. How to choose?

Well, I am here to provide some assistance. I will be teaching you and other beginners how to create a Waldorf-inspired doll, with simplicity in mind to get you started and using wonderful natural materials. You will feel confident to continue your making journey and learn more techniques if you want to. Or you can carry on, with the knowledge you now have and make more dolls for those you love.

We will be creating a sweet and tender 14" tall doll, using traditional Waldorf-inspired dollmaking techniques, with just a touch of needle felting. This doll is suitable for children to play with.

The class is based on my available doll pattern "Little Fig", with some improvements and updates. I have published so many tutorials on how to make clothes for this doll size that I thought it best to start you with it, so you can carry on making a full wardrobe.

In this class, you will learn how to roll a high-quality doll head, shape it, sculpt it, cover it in doll skin and give it pretty embroidered eyes and wee ears.

You will also learn how to make a doll body that represents the body proportions of a very young child (4 to 5 years old), with chubby knees, a little bum and curved arms with some mobility.

Then you will learn how to make a mohair yarn wig or sew wefts to the doll in case you want longer hair.

I will teach you how to stuff your doll, how to create chubby cheeks and a round belly, how to blush it and some of my best tips to achieve a fully-playable doll.

This class is geared to beginners, people who have never made a doll before. If you have some sewing experience it will come in handy, but I will show you how to make everything.

Class enrolment begins now and I will close enrolment when the class is full. A list of materials will be provided so you can start buying everything you might need. The ingredients to make the doll are not included in the price.

Class starts on August 5th and ends on the 31st. Every week you will receive a video that shows you how to do the steps of that week, and then we will meet on the weekend for some live trouble-shooting and instruction via zoom. Weekend meetings are short, just so I can check your progress.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch. Thank you for considering joining one of my online classes.
